Lions defensive end Marcus Davenport is lacking patience ahead of a big season for him in 2024. That story and more in today’s Lions Notes.

There has been a lot of talk about the Detroit Lions ’ offseason over the course of the spring and summer months. Analysts from around the country have spoken at length about how additions along the offensive line and how a revamped secondary should once again have the team playing deep into the postseason.

Lost in a lot of that chatter has been the addition of defensive end Marcus Davenport to a front that is looking to be a lot better in 2024 than they were in 2023. Justin Rogers wrote about how Davenport has been more than ready for the season to get here on the Detroit Football Network .

“I really have no patience,” Davenport said of his yearning for football to be back. “Sometimes I think that’s my downfall, but it also drives me. I’m really lucky there are people here I can trust to help manage me and keep me cool.”

You can read the entire article from Rogers right here .

Marcus Davenport had a long wait to make his full practice debut with the Detroit Lions. He’s glad the day has come, because he unfortunately never discovered patience along the way. https://t.co/9mosqZrfUJ

And now, onto the rest of today’s notes:

  • Lions’ coach Dan Campbell took some time to discuss wide receiver Jameson Williams’ growth with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and team reporter Dannie Rogers.

“He really came back refreshed, on point, focused, and he’s just continued now.”
