Happy postseason Victory Monday.
Some called them a one-and-done playoff team, but the Detroit Lions shut the haters up Sunday night as they sent the Los Angeles Rams packing.
The Lions (and the Ford Field crowd) knocked their old friend Matthew Stafford and company out of the playoffs, gaining even more love across the NFL world.
Here’s what they’re saying about your Detroit Lions and the big win.
“Moving forward as a franchise, what free agent wouldn’t want to play for this coach, play in this building, and run through a wall for this ownership group that has given them every resource possible… if it ends right now, it was still a great story.”

Soak it all in. This isn’t just a special moment from us, it was an iconic national NFL game. Best game of the weekend. Best storyline in years.@peter_king , who has been doing this for 40 years, called it a “top five” game he’s ever covered. https://t.co/1OXyfvOKVZ

Here’s the moment Dan Campbell gives game balls to Lions GM Brad Holmes and QB Jared Goff…

No more deserving human than Goff. The dude gets no love, and was THE linchpin in turning around the Detroit Lions. pic.twitter.com/b3IhUbckeJ

And onto the rest of your notes.
- “The Lions were more than ready for the brighter spotlight of the postseason. Their next step is proving they can capitalize on another home playoff game.” NFL.com columnist Jeffri Chadiha offers one question facing each playoff team and for the Lions it’s whether fate is smiling upon the Motor City.
- This intensity from David Montgomery is exactly what you want to see right now.
1-on-1 with #Lions RB David Montgomery:
“We know we gotta play better if we want to do the whole thing…”
Jojo: Can you smile for me?

- It’s been touching to see just how many people are affected by this team with all the stories coming out lately. A sweet note from this fan:
On an emotional night, Dad’s Yahrzheit, @Lions accomplished something for the 2nd time in the last 65 yrs, a playoff win. Dad was @ Pontiac Silverdome in 1991 when DET def DAL. Tonight, he had a front row seat from skybox. These are not the same old Lions! #AllGrit #OnePride pic.twitter.com/fbTxsqwxoc
