Come hang out with us live as the Green Bay Packers take on the Dallas Cowboys.
Before our Detroit Lions kick off against the Los Angeles Rams , there is another big NFC playoff game upon us that will have a pretty huge impact on the Lions’ future should Detroit advance to the next round.
The Green Bay Packers
—winners of six of their last eight contests (but still not enough to even come within two of the division title)—take on the NFL officials Dallas Cowboys
in a big NFC showdown.
Should the Packers win, they will face the San Francisco 49ers in the Division Round. That would set the Lions up to host another playoff game—against the Buccaneers or Eagles—should they take down the Rams on Sunday night.
Should the Cowboys win, the Lions would have a trip to Arlington awaiting them next week. No matter the result of the Monday night game, Detroit would get a rematch against the Cowboys should they beat the Rams.
So…. that puts Lions fans in an awkward position to root for the Packers—let’s just call it rooting against the Cowboys. But let’s swallow our pride here, because a potential second home playoff game would be huge for this franchise and set up a very good opportunity for the Lions to reach their second NFC Championship ever.
Of course, first things first. They have to beat the Rams on Sunday night for any of this to matter. But because the Packers/Cowboys games comes first on Sunday, let’s sit back, enjoy some playoff football, and root against the Cowboys.
