The Detroit Lions’ Divisional Round opponent is set—as is the date, time, and TV channel of their playoff matchup.
The Detroit Lions will kick off their 2024-25 postseason on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET on FOX and will face the Washington Commanders .
Though the NFC Wild Card round is not done yet, the Lions are guaranteed to face off against the Commanders, because they are the lowest seed to make the second round of the postseason. With the seven-seeded Green Bay Packers eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles , the six-seeded Commanders are the lowest remaining team. The Eagles will face off against the winner of Monday night’s contest between the Rams and Vikings.
The last time the Lions and Commanders faced off was in 2022 when Detroit walked away with a 36-27 victory. However, both teams are significantly different since that meeting. Most notably, the Commanders have rookie standout quarterback Jayden Daniels, and coach Dan Quinn is in his first year with the Commanders. This year, Washington went 12-5, their best record since 1991—when they won the Super Bowl last.
The Lions’ Divisional Round playoff game will air on FOX and FOX Deportes.
