The Lions were only a little short handed at Wednesday’s practice.
For Daniels, that isn’t much of a surprise. He suffered a first-quarter injury on Sunday, which NFL Network is reporting as a foot sprain, and he did not return. Prior to Wednesday’s practice, Lions head coach Matt Patricia announced Daniels would not be at practice.
“Mike Daniels won’t practice today,” Patricia announced. “We’re still kind of working through everything.”
However, Amendola’s absence is a bit of a surprise. Toward the end of the game against the Eagles , Amendola came down hard after making a fourth-quarter catch and did not return. After the game, Amendola told MLive that he landed funny and should be OK . At this point, it’s unclear if his absence was injury related, but we should know more when the injury report is released around 4 p.m. ET.
Lions cornerback Darius Slay , who left in the second half of Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, was present during Wednesday’s practice, but sat out of most individual drills, along with fellow cornerback Rashaan Melvin , who has played every game but is still dealing with a knee injury.
