Checking in on the results of our latest SB Nation Reacts Lions survey.
With the 2025 NFL Draft less than a week away, all eyes are focused on what teams will do at the big event. With that on our mind, earlier this week, in our latest SB Nation Reacts survey , we asked Detroit Lions fans the question:
What position will the Detroit Lions draft first?
To give fans options, we turned to the good folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook , to help us with some context on what the Lions might do, and they provided the following betting odds from their website:
- Defensive Lineman/Edge: -190
- Offensive Lineman: +210
- Wide receiver: +1500
- Cornerback: +1400
- Safety: +3800
- Linebacker: +3800
With voting closed and the results tallied, results stayed very much in line with the betting odds.

As expected most Lions fans have been clamoring for help on the defensive line all offseason, so it’s no surprise that almost half voted that way. Help on the offensive line is also warranted, and I was a bit surprised to see that percentages reach almost 40%.
To get a closer look into the minds of Lions fans and their reasonings, here are a few of the explanations from the comment section of the original article , lightly edited for clarity:
- Lev_nichills10: “I believe Brad will go OL but it is truly a guess due to Brad’s reputation of uncertainty in previous drafts. I feel Brad has not addressed the D-line as much as people had hoped this off-season and feels content with the options of Davenport and Paschal off the edge. That is what makes me feel he will get a OL to potentially start right away.”
- I have the Honolulu Blues: “Everyone is usually a little surprised what Brad does but we probably really shouldn’t be. If you look back he usually comes right out and practically tells us every year, early in the process. This year he said early on that O-Line is our strength and bread and butter and he wants to keep it strong. He also said he wasn’t completely convinced that Mahogany is ready yet. We also have lost a starter in Zeitler. I think if Zabel or Booker is still there that will be the pick.”
- PonceDeLion: “Interesting to have it quantified like that, -190 for DL/Edge is pretty strong. I agree, but I wouldn’t say my belief is that strong. That’s more about Brad Holmes having a different eye than everyone else.”
- ncbur10: “Give me linebacker at +3800. Welcome to Detroit Jihaad Campbell.”
- Quinny the pooh: “If they move up, its for an EDGE. If they stay put, its OL.”
