In Week 16, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys will square off on “Sunday Night Football.” Come chat with us in our open thread.
The NFL wraps up a fun-filled Week 16 weekend of football with an NFC battle between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.”
Because the NFC is so strong in the North and East divisions, they currently have five teams with a firm grasp on playoff spots, the West and South may only see their division winners in the postseason. The Detroit Lions (13-2), Minnesota Vikings (13-2), and Philadelphia Eagles (12-3) have already secured playoff berths, the Washington Commanders (10-5) are knocking on the door, and the Green Bay Packers (10-4) can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win over the Saints on “Monday Night Football.”
The Buccaneers (8-6) currently sit in the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoff standings, but they’re still not in a playoff-clinching spot yet, as the Falcons (8-7) are just one-half game behind them in the NFC South standings. The Bucs are in control of their own destiny, but this will be a game they need to win in order to maintain their lead in the division.
For the Cowboys (6-8), after the results from the earlier games, they’ve been eliminated from playoff contention.
Betting line and pick for the game
The folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook are favoring Tampa Bay in this game with the betting line being set at Buccaneers -3.5 points. The Cowboys have won three of their past four games, but the Bucs are on a four-game win streak. Besides the Bucs looking like the better team, everything is on the line for them in this game, while the Cowboys are just playing for pride.
Prediction: Bucs 27-20
