Week 10 opens with an AFC North rivalry, as the Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) travel to Maryland to take on the Baltimore Ravens (6-3) on “Thursday Night Football.” These teams have faced off 58 times in their histories with the Ravens holding a 31-26 regular season lead—including winning four of the last five meetings—while the Bengals have won the only postseason matchup. These two teams have already met once this season, with the Ravens coming away with a 41-38 victory in overtime.
The Bengals have been inconsistent this season but really need a win to stay in contention for a possible AFC North title. Joe Burrow is coming off a really good performance against the Raiders last week, throwing five touchdowns and spreading the ball out to his receivers, tight ends, and running backs. The Bengals’ chances to win this game likely hang firmly on his throwing arm.
The Ravens are on fire right now. Currently, they have the second-highest points-per-game average with 31.4 (behind only the Detroit Lions ), produce the most yards per game, and are coming off their third victory where they scored 40+ points. Lamar Jackson and Zay Flowers have been gashing teams through the air, while Derrick Henry is running over defenses on the ground. Baltimore’s defense has been surprisingly leaky this season but they’re coming off one of their best performances of the year, registering four sacks against the Broncos and holding them to just 10 points.
Betting line and pick for the game
The folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook are favoring Baltimore in this game with the betting line being set at Ravens -5.5 points. I’m expecting another shootout in this game, and while I have a hard time betting against the Ravens in this one, I am guessing it’s closer than the betting line suggests.
Prediction: Ravens 31-28
