Detroit Lions WR coach Antwaan Randle El had a terrific reaction to Jameson Williams’ 82-yard TD, but watching JAMO react to Randle El was classic. Check it out.
One of the many, many things that make this Detroit Lions team so great is the mutual love and respect that clearly exists between players and coaches.
That’s why when Jameson Williams took off for an 82-yard touchdown against the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon, wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El couldn’t help but run down the sideline himself.
The Lions posted a video of his reaction alongside the big play.

Even better — NFL Network’s Stacey Dales spoke with Williams after the game and showed him a clip of Coach El absolutely losing it. Williams hadn’t seen it yet and let out the most infectious laugh, you have to see it.
Jameson Williams had a career blazing best 82-yard touchdown today. He got to see his receivers Coach Antwaan Randle El’s reaction for the very first time… Priceless, infectious joy! @NFLGameDay @nflnetwork #OnePride #Lions #ItTakesMore pic.twitter.com/wEIjgKOViE

“Explosive (plays) kind of win the game for you,” Williams told Dales. “That’s one of the plays, it was early and I guess it gave the team the juice — you see coach, you see everybody on the sideline. It was big for us.”
A terrific NFL wide receiver himself from 2002-2010, Randle El knows the thrill of making a big catch and racing to the endzone like a madman. The Lions are well known for having former players as coaches, and you have to imagine it makes a difference, especially in moments like this.

Is quite literally every person involved in this organization charismatic, or what?
And onto the rest of your notes.
- A bit more on Jamo — many still can’t believe just how speedy he is.
I hear people a lot say their kid has 4.4 or even 4.3 speed. Ppl don’t understand how FAST that really is. Jamar Chase is probably a legit 4.5. Trainers and coaches using handheld times give fast times. THIS is 4.37 (3 hundredths from 4.4). Look how easily he runs past NFL dback pic.twitter.com/rmtX2uf6hS

- A meal that would sound quite unappealing to anyone who isn’t a Lions fan.

- This certainly aged well.
AUDIO: I asked #Lions Penei Sewell about “doom and gloom” mindset from some Lions fans after Sunday’s loss and the injuries.
“The real fans, they gonna stick down through whatever…and if you wanna keep questioning, then go ahead and just hop off. You’ll see what happens.” pic.twitter.com/7S94giU5ZV

- It’s from last week but still worth a watch — Terrion Arnold vs. the Michigan cold is one of my favorite battles.
Chance to sit down and chat with @ArnoldTerrion today. We discussed how his comfort level has grown through 15 weeks and how a Florida kid has adapted to his first Michigan winter. Tons of personality to go along with tons of talent. He knows it’s his time too. #Fox2 6:18 pm
