Checking in on the results of our latest SB Nation Reacts Lions survey.
With the 2025 NFL Draft just a day away, all eyes are focused on what teams will do at the big event. With the draft dominating the NFL media cycle, earlier this week, in our latest SB Nation Reacts survey , we asked Detroit Lions fans the following question:
Which DL should the Detroit Lions select in the 2025 NFL Draft?
This questions stemmed for the previous week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, where Detroit fans projected the Lions to draft a defensive lineman with their first pick . This lined up cleanly with FanDuel Sportsbook , who set the betting odds at -190 that the Lions will take a defensive lineman with their first selection.
To build on this theory, we offered fans seven different defensive linemen who could potentially be available when the Lions were on the clock and asked them to pick their preferred option. With voting closed and the results tallied, the results are now in and Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams led the way with 26% of the vote.

While Williams won by a fair margin, it was an interesting development to see how the votes were cast. To get a closer look into the minds of Lions fans and their reasonings, here are a few of the explanations from the comment section of the original article , lightly edited for clarity:
- WHRoberts: “I’d EASILY pick Mykell Williams over any of those other guys!! I think he’ll be the first one taken. I hope Brad trades UP for him!!”
- positivebob: “I think it’ll be Tyleik Williams. Run defense is job 1 for the Lions, Williams is one of the best.”
In addition to the Lions betting odds, the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook also set betting lines on a variety of NFL Draft related items, including who will be selected with each of the first five picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. SB Nation held National survey based on those odds and they generated the following results:
