How to watch Lions vs. Texas: TV channel, announcers, kickoff time, more
The Detroit Lions and Houston Texans have only faced off five times in history, and the Texans have walked away winners in four of those contests.
But this year’s matchup feels different than any other. For one, both teams are considered among the best in their conference. The Texans, at 6-3, have one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL, sit comfortably atop the AFC South with a two-game lead, and currently hold the AFC’s fourth seed. The Lions are off to their best start in six decades at 7-1. They’ve taken down the NFC North’s two biggest challengers—both on the road—and are looking like the team to beat in the NFC.
Injuries are the story this week. The Lions will be missing left tackle Taylor Decker, and it appears the recently-traded-for Za’Darius Smith won’t make his Lions debut this week. On the Texans side, star receiver Nico Collins is questionable, but the Texans activated him to the 53-man roster on Saturday, indicating there’s hope he’ll play. However, they will be missing their leading sacker, Will Anderson Jr., due to an ankle injury.
Still, these two teams are star-heavy enough to draw the “Sunday Night Football” timeslot, so all eyes will be on Lions vs. Texans.
