Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff is a finalist for MVP, while Dan Campbell, Aaron Glenn, and Ben Johnson are also up for NFL Honors awards.
The NFL Honors—the league’s post-season award show—will take place on Thursday, February 6, just a few days before the Super Bowl . This week, the NFL announced finalists for their awards, and several Detroit Lions could be walking away with hardware.
Most notably, quarterback Jared Goff is one of five finalists for Most Valuable Player, joining Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Saquon Barkley. While it’s unlikely Goff will win considering Jackson was named first-team All Pro by the same set of voters who voted for MVP, it certainly should be considered an honor for Goff to be among the five finalists. He finished the season completing 72.4 percent of his passes for 8.6 yards per attempt, 37 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 111.8—all career highs for the 30-year-old quarterback.
Additionally, coach Dan Campbell is up for coach of the year. The four finalists that join him are:
- Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell
- Broncos coach Sean Payton
- Commanders coach Dan Quinn
- Chiefs coach Andy Reid
On top of that, both of the Lions’ former coordinators are up for assistant coach of the year. Here are those five finalists:
- Lions OC Ben Johnson
- Lions DC Aaron Glenn
- Vikings DC Brian Flores
- Eagles DC Vic Fangio
- Bills OC Joe Brady

You can watch the NFL Honors award ceremony on Thursday, February 6 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX or NFL Network.
