All-Pro Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett wants a trade to a contender after heating up rumors that he could be heading a new team sooner rather than later. According to Pro Football Talk, the Pro Bowler made it known he would rather dealt in a trade to a contender since he’s not in a position to rebuild. This comes after requesting a trade earlier this week that was sending shockwaves across the league and to no surprise, he should have interest from contenders. Cleveland already said they’re not trading Garrett but they might not have a choice since many should expect the All-Pro to sit out of practice until a trade goes through.
Originally selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the former Texas A&M product became one of the most dangerous defensive stalwarts in the league, recording six fumble recoveries, 17 pass deflections, 102.5 sacks and 352 total tackles. Garrett’s trade decision came down simply to how depleting the Browns are and are nowhere near to being a contender, which is why cornerback Denzel Ward might be the latest Brown to request a trade. Here are five teams that could help trade for Myles Garrett so he could finally play for a contender.

Possible Next Teams
Kansas City Chiefs
It’s too early to see what the Chiefs will do to pull a Myles Garrett trade, but it might happen since the team will be without several of their offensive weapons , including DeAndre Hopkins and Marquise Brown. Nick Bolton and Josh Uche will also become free agents so they could probably bring in Garrett and he may even take a cheap deal in this situation. Kansas City has everything a star player like Garrett wants and is to contender for a championship team.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens were close to looking like Super Bowl contenders but their chances fell through since the defense couldn’t find a way to stop quarterback Josh Allen in the divisional round. After losing several defensive players like Jadeveon Clowney and Geno Stone last offseason, the Ravens should go big for Garrett before anyone else does. Garrett pairing with Nnamdi Madubuike, Roquan Smith and Kyle Van Noy sounds like a scary sight for the rest of the league.
Los Angeles Chargers
As for the Chargers, the offense looks like they have a bright future with quarterback Justin Herbert and head coach Jim Harbaugh guiding him. However, it wasn’t enough to go further in the postseason since he didn’t have the capable help to lead the Chargers. While they fix their offense, they could use another pass rusher since cut candidate Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack will hit free agency, and Garrett could make up for both.
Detroit Lions
For the Lions, the team was without the entire starting secondary, costing them in the end, but losing Aidan Hutchinson was a notable name that may have been a reason why they lost against the Commanders in a heartbreaker. Marcus Davenport will become a free agent so it’s clear they will have some capable support in the defensive trenches unit. Garrett is a significant upgrade that could keep the Lions a worthy competitor for a new chance at a Super Bowl.
Washington Commanders
According to reports, Garrett would love to join quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Commanders with the culture they’re building. Head Coach Dan Quinn did well to guide this team to a NFC Championship but since they will embrace losing Jonathan Allen, they should be in the market for another ferocious pass rusher. He would be able to match the energy of what Dante Fowler Jr. and Dorance Armstrong are trying to build.
