Checking in on the results of our latest SB Nation Reacts Lions survey.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Earlier this week, the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook released their odds for each NFL team’s projected win totals for the 2025 season. As defending NFC North Champions, the Lions were projected to win 10.5 games, while the Packers ’ win total was set at 9.5 games, and the Vikings and Bears were both listed at 8.5 wins.
This topic led to our latest SB Nation Reacts Survey , where we asked the question: Will the Lions win over or under 10.5 games this season?
With a few days for Lions fans to vote and comment on the survey, the polls have closed and the results are in—and the Honolulu Blue Kool-Aid continues its steady flow through Detroit.

Detroit checked in with 89% of fan votes projecting the Lions to clear 10.5 wins, a strong number for the back-to-back division champs. Packers fans were also feeling confident with 85% of their fans believing they’ll clear 9.5 wins, while 93% of Vikings fans were taking the over on 8.5 wins, and even Bears fans—surely drunk on confidence from the Ben Johnson hire—had 79% of their fans picking them to go over 8.5 wins.
To get a closer look into the minds of Lions fans and their reasonings, here are a few of the explanations from the comment section of the original article , lightly edited for clarity:
- Here’s to Hopeful: “Schedule appears to be brutal and they’re going into the season with 2 new coordinators. I’m still going over but I’m less confident going into this season as I was last season. Hopefully, they avoid the injury bug this year — and it pays a visit to division rivals instead.
- Askmrowl: “Back in the day it was viewed as a brutal schedule. Now the opponents have the brutal schedule playing us.”
- GoLions!: “Expecting a 12-5 type season this year; this is a darn good team. Go Lions!”
- enelsoniii: “Does anyone see 7 losses this year for this roster????? Uh, absolutely not. At full strength, this team is the best in the NFC. Although Alim will be out for the start, this is a team that looks like a 13-win team all day. Needless to say, I’m taking the over. And predicting 5-1 in the North.”
