How Many Yards Tyreek Hill Needs To Break Calvin Johnson’s NFL Record

December 30, 2023 by The Spun

Early on in the season it looked like Tyreek Hill would not only break but obliterate the NFL single-season receiving yards record. But one missed game has put him in a rough position to break the record currently held by Calvin Johnson.

Hill currently has 1,641 yards on the season, a mark that leads the league and is just 70 yards shy of his own personal best. But if he wants to break the record, he needs two huge games in these final two weeks.

According to ProFootballTalk, Hill needs 324 yards in two games in order to pass Johnson’s mark of 1,964, which was set back in 2012. And if he wants to become the first receiver to ever go over 2,000 yards in a season, he needs 359 yards.

We know that Hill is physically capable of doing that as he went over that mark in a two-game stretch not once, but twice this season alone.

But those performances won’t come easily as the Dolphins take on the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills to close out the season.

Had Hill been able to play against the New York Jets a few weeks ago, there’s a very good chance that he’d only need about 200 or so yards over two games in order to break the record.

But one missed game will make things very tricky for him over these final two games.

Will Tyreek Hill break the record?
