Former Lions 1st-round pick Eric Ebron was one of several Lions alum in town for a charity event.
Eric Ebron was one of a handful of alumni the Detroit Lions welcomed to their Meijer Performance Center training facility in Allen Park over the weekend.
Lions legend Calvin Johnson held a youth camp at the facility as part of his Calvin Johnson Jr. Foundation event called “Catching Dreams Weekend.” On Sunday, Johnson hosted a group of local high school players to work on their skills and provide some motivation.
“We’re just trying to dump into them everything that we’ve learned over the years and just hope they catch a couple of things from us,” Johnson told ClickOnDetroit.com . “I think that’ll help them along their whole journey throughout their matriculation in high school.”

The Lions drafted Ebron with the 10th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft . He would end up playing four seasons with the Lions, catching 186 passes for 2,070 yards and 11 touchdowns for Detroit. Eventually the Lions released him, but Ebron’s NFL career continued for another four seasons, including a Pro Bowl year with the Colts (750 yards, 13 touchdowns). Though he hadn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2021, Ebron officially announced his retirement this past December .
Other Lions alum who were in attendance included Joique Bell, Ryan Broyles, Dominic Raiola, and Johnson’s business partner Gosder Cherilus.
