Check out your 2024 movers on offense in the Detroit Lions year-end stock report.
With the Detroit Lions ’ 2024 season over, it’s time to look back on your biggest movers from this year. You can check out the season stock report for defense and special teams here . Let’s dive in:
Stock up: Jameson Williams, WR
Stats: 58 rec, 1,001 yards, 7 TD; 11 rushes, 61 yards, 1 TD
Jameson Williams finally grew into the expectations he has carried since the moment the Lions traded up for him. After injury, suspension, and lots of growing pains, Jamo finally become the dynamic threat the Lions envisioned him to be. The most important part of his development was his ability to not just run past defenders 50 yards downfield, but to use his speed at the line of scrimmage as well as the short-intermediate passing game. It shows a much stronger understanding of the offense as well as opposing defenses, and has a lot of promise for his usage going forward regardless of who is coordinating the Lions offense. Jamo also wasn’t plagued with drops as often as years past, so hopefully that trajectory continues.
Stock up: Jared Goff, QB
Passing stats: 390/539 (72.4%), 4629 yards, 37 TD, 12 INT, 6 fumbles
Rushing & receiving stats: 35 rushes, 56 yards; 1 rec, 7 yards, 1 TD
Jared Goff had indisputably the best season of his career and there’s a lot to be excited about heading into 2025. Just about every criticism of Goff went out the window in 2024. He orchestrated fast-paced fourth-quarter comebacks, he won several shootouts when the defense wasn’t giving him much help, heck he learned to escape the pocket and even throw on the run. The promising games that were a flash in the pan in 2021 are now the norm, perhaps even the expectation, of Jared Goff and that speaks volumes to his continued growth. 2024 finally gave me the confidence that he can run the show even when Ben Johnson leaves, so it was fitting timing that Johnson did. I have every expectation that Goff will continue to build on his MVP candidacy in 2025.
Stock down: Graham Glasgow, G
It was a rough season for Glasgow, who entered the season perceived as one of the offense’s strengths and left it as one of the biggest liabilities. Glasgow was plagued with inconsistency, and it seemed to get worse as the year went on. This was after the Divisional round playoff game:
Re-watching highlights from the game and almost every play is because of pressure from the LG position. The bad plays are because a defender beat Glasgow, and the good plays are because Goff/Gibbs is evading a defender who beat Glasgow. Just brutal.

It doesn’t help that rookie Christian Mahogany stepped in so admirably when Glasgow and Zeitler were out with injury. It feels like there’s a conversation needed to be had about whether Glasgow will be a starting guard for the Lions in 2025.
Stock up: Christian Mahogany, G
Speaking of Mahogany, what a year for him. Expectations were almost nonexistent for a guy taken in the sixth round—people don’t often get excited about reserve offensive linemen. But when opportunity rang, Mahogany answered. Filling in for both Glasgow and Kevin Zeitler late in the season, Mahogany was an absolute rock at guard. Mahogany finished the season by stepping in for Zeitler in Week 18 and performing as the Lions’ highest-graded player per PFF, but on a limited snap count. Then in the Divisional round playoff game, he graded out as the best player on offense. He has made his presence known and should be a big part of the Lions’ plans for the future of their offensive line.
Stock neutral: Sam LaPorta, TE
Stats: 60 rec, 726 yards, 7 TD
Sam LaPorta had high expectations after bursting onto the scene as a rookie. As the 2024 season unfolded, those expectations were quickly called into question. LaPorta, who was functionally a safety net for Jared Goff in 2023, had just 14 catches through the first six games of the season. It seems like someone took note, be it Jared Goff, Ben Johnson, or someone else. In November, LaPorta had six targets in three of the four games, but Goff just couldn’t connect with him—LaPorta didn’t have more than three receptions in any of those games. By December, their chemistry was back, and LaPorta closed out the year with 35 receptions in his last six games, more than double the mark he set to open the season.
It was a slow start—perhaps exacerbated by injury—but LaPorta rebounded well and should be in position for a strong 2025 season.
Stock up: Tim Patrick, WR
Stats: 33 rec, 394 yards
Tim Patrick found a new home in Detroit. The stats aren’t anything to write home about, even for a WR3, but the film tells a different story. As Tim Patrick got comfortable and integrated into the Lions offense, the results spoke for themselves. There was more room in the quick game, defenses had to respect both Jamo and Patrick as deep threats, and Patrick was a willing and able blocker in the run game. It was a heck of a comeback story and one that he should be able to build on in 2025, assuming he returns to Detroit.
Quick hits
Stock up
Sione Vaki, RB: Vaki carved out a strong role for himself on special teams as well as seeing limited action as RB4. For a rookie without a ton of role clarity, he found a way onto the field, and that’s all you can ask.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB: We all know Bridgewater is a damn good quarterback, but to say “I’m back” and instantly get promoted to backup was a pretty cool move. It mattered, too, since he stepped in while Goff was evaluated for a concussion in the playoff game. Maybe Teddy B will be back in 2025? Who knows.
Stock down:
Hendon Hooker, QB: Teddy Bridgewater is a really good NFL quarterback, so I don’t want to read into the Lions promoting him to backup too much. But I would’ve liked to see more patience and read progression out of Hendon Hooker in his limited late-game action. This will functionally be his second real offseason since he was drafted with an injury, so hopefully he can take a step forward entering 2025.
