Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell is glad that he doesn’t have to play against Justin Fields anymore.
Fields played well against the Lions while Campbell was the head coach and the latter is happy that the former is now with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“I’m not going to lie, it’s nice to have Fields out of that division,” Campbell said .
Fields has played the Lions five times throughout his career and has thrown for 843 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions. His record in those games is 2-3.
Fields beat the Lions in his last start against them in December. The Bears won 28-13 and Fields finished with 223 yards through the air and a touchdown.
Even though Fields is out of the NFC North, Campbell can’t get too comfortable. He’s about to be facing Caleb Williams twice a year once the Bears draft him with the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft next month.
Williams oozes with talent and will try to get the Bears back to competing for a playoff spot.
Meanwhile, the Lions will be trying to win a second straight NFC North title after making the NFC Championship Game this past season.
