As contract talks continue to be at a standstill in Cincinnati, the Bengals are listening to trade offers for defensive end Trey Hendrickson. According to the breaking news , the Bengals are now looking to trade Hendrickson after struggling to figure out a way to negotiate a new contract for the defensive end that will meet his demands. The trade itself will be difficult since it will cost the Bengals the most, which is why they could take their time for the best offer that’s out there. This comes after Hendrickson requested a trade earlier this offseason amid the stalemate in contract negotiations, and since the 2025 regular season is around, it makes sense why the Bengals are hoping to move on sooner rather than later.
With wide receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase inking new deals, the Bengals were hopeful they would find a way to pay Hendrickson. However, it hasn’t been panning out that way, as the defensive end would rather sign elsewhere that will give him the contract that he wants. It’s a huge blow to Cincinnati’s postseason hopes, as they have a capable quarterback in Joe Burrow and an offense that is no longer in rebuild mode. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up, but these four teams should make the most sense if the Bengals truly want to move on from Hendrickson.

Breaking: Bengals Listening to Trade Offers for Trey Hendrickson – 4 Possible Destinations
Best Landing Spots
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers had one of the worst defenses last season, and their pass-rush was dreadful to watch. Luckily, the team finally made some upgrades in that unit, signing Bobby Brown and Tershawn Wharton to help transition the return of Derrick Brown much smoothly. While they draft Nic Scourton and Princely Umanmielen, they could use more juice in their defense. Scourton went down with a lung collapse , so Hendrickson’s presence should put the Panthers in a position to have one of the most improved defenses.
Detroit Lions
After addressing their offensive line and adding depth at the receiver position, the Detroit Lions have yet to add any talent on defense that will step up in Aidan Hutchinson’s return. The Lions are eyeing Za’Darius Smith in the wake of Levi Onwuzurike’s injury , and since the bug has been trailing around in Detroit, it makes sense for the team to all in on Hendrickson. The team has $40 million in cap space, so they could figure out a way to make it work, so imagine Hutchinson and Hendrickson on the same team.
Los Angeles Chargers
It has been a disappointing offseason for the Los Angeles Chargers as far as adding any more talent on defense. After signing just Da’Shawn Hand while losing Poona Ford is just a slap in the face for head coach Jim Harbaugh, who wants to win football games with a strong, physical defense. It’s not like the Chargers don’t have the financial means for a trade, so if the team could pull this off, this would make the fans forget about the earlier moves.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders have reportedly checked on the defensive star. However, it’s hard to find a price to make it work, but never say never. Hendrickson, Von Miller and Bobby Wagner on the same team sounds like a real nightmare for a team in a “win now” mode.
