Bargain DraftKings DFS Picks – Divisional Round, Buccaneers At Lions

January 20, 2024 by Last Word On Pro Football

DraftKings DFS

DraftKings DFS bargains are easy to find when the Lions’ defense is involved, this is going to be a track meet! The Buccaneers’ defense is a different proposition to the Rams for the Lions. But If the Lions offense can score points the Buccaneers offense should struggle to keep up. Mike Evans is due to go off this week, but he’ll be expensive. Only the Commanders and Eagles have conceded more touchdowns to wide receivers than the Lions!

You get the feeling the Lions will allow a good offense to score 32 points in a game because they’re confident they’ll score 35. Dan Campbell has become the Ossie Ardiles of the NFL.

DraftKings DFS Bargains for the Divisional Round: Buccaneers At Lions

The Unstoppable Rookie DraftKings DFS Pick – Trey Palmer

Palmer is a burner, he clocked the fastest 40-yard dash time at the 2023 draft. And, he left Eagles defenders for dead on his way to a 56-yard touchdown . Last week the Lions’ defense gave up 181 yards to another rookie, Puka Nacua, so Palmer has a chance to gobble up the yards this week.

He could line up opposite fellow rookie Brian Branch. Branch is having a good season and he definitely tackles better than the Eagles defensive backs. But he ran a 4.58 second 40-yard time compared to Palmer’s 4.33. So Branch is going to need some help over the top. Only Mike Evans and Cade Otten caught more touchdown passes for the Buccaneers than Palmer did in the regular season.

He will only cost you $4,400 in this week’s DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown. And the Lions gave up 367 passing yards last week, remember!

The Better Late Than Never DraftKings DFS Pick – David Moore

Following that train of thought, Moore was another guy who made the most of the Eagles’ average defending last week. Moore caught a 44-yard touchdown pass as he weaved seamlessly between would-be tacklers. And Moore is averaging 18.8 yards per touch this season! Moore only played in the last seven games of the regular season, and some would say he has timed his run perfectly. He’s only seen 10 targets this season. But he’s caught seven of them and racked up 160 receiving yards!

This week he’ll be lining up opposite Kindle Vildor (or maybe a linebacker if Aaron Glenn isn’t paying attention). Vildor began the season in Tennessee and arrived in Detroit on November 14th via the Eagles practice squad. He has played five games for the Lions and allowed just 52.6% of passes to be completed. But he is allowing 15.4 yards per completion. And he’s given up 2 touchdowns in those five games. Moore is $2,800 on this DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown slate.

The Big Play DraftKings DFS Pick – Jameson Williams

Williams is averaging 14.5 yards per touch this season. And he’s scored rushing and receiving touchdowns. And he’s playing against a defense that gave up 18.5 yards per reception to DeVonta Smith last week.

This week he figures to be lining up opposite Jamel Dean. Dean has had a good season, but last week he gave up 77 yards on seven completions. Over the course of the regular season, he’s allowed 66.1% of passes to be completed and 13.1 yards per completion.

After Josh Reynolds’ big game last week, Williams costs just $4,200 on this week’s DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown slate. But Reynolds hasn’t had back-to-back big games since Week 1 and Week 2.

The “You’re Telling Me There’s A Chance” Pick – Payne Durham

Only five teams allowed more touchdowns to the tight end position than the Buccaneers did during the regular season. And even though Durham is buried below Otten on the depth chart, he can scoot . And he can wrestle the ball away from defenders too.

Durham averaged 11.6 yards per reception during the regular season. And last week he took his only catch for 18 yards! This week he’ll cost just $200 on the DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown slate.

The Can’t-Miss Pick – Chase Mclaughlin

McLaughlin went seven of eight from 50 yards or more this season. And he only missed two field goal attempts all season. Last week he scored 15 DraftKings DFS points! He only costs $4,800 this week and he’s playing indoors this time out.
