Alternative Four Quarterback/Wide Receiver Duos to Have for Fantasy

August 5, 2024 by Last Word On Pro Football

Quarterback/wide receiver duos

Strong quarterback/wide receiver duos is a strategy that really helps elevate your team. Getting a quarterback who posts a lot of points every week and pairing him with his best receiver is a good way to se yourself up for success. Here are four of the best duos in fantasy football this year.

Alternative Quarterback/Wide Receiver Duos for 2024 Fantasy Football

Fantasy Football Draft Guide

Anthony Richardson/Michael Pittman

This duo is a boom-or-bust situation, but the potential is too good to ignore. Anthony Richardson has the potential to be the best dual-threat quarterback in the league if he can stay healthy. He averaged 25.8 fantasy points in his two full games last season where he averaged 211.5 passing yards and 1.5 passing touchdowns per game. Michael Pittman didn’t find the endzone as much as he would have liked last year, but Richardson under center should help that. He’s going to back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.

Richardson and Pittman are both in great positions to succeed. There’s a lot of hype regarding the Colts wide receiver room this year with Adonai Mitchell joining the squad, but Pittman is still the number one receiver.

Justin Herbert/Ladd McConkey

Justin Herbert is a consistent option for fantasy owners to have as a starting quarterback. Excluding the game where he suffered his season-ending finger injury, Herbert finished with 14+ fantasy points in 10/12 weeks with fantasy implications. Everyone knows what happened the last time there was a lot of hype about a Chargers wide receiver, but Ladd McConkey is worlds better than Quentin Johnston. McConkey is in a position to thrive given the talent (or lack of) surrounding him in the Chargers receiving room.

It’s hard to trust a rookie receiver to be someone that is worthwhile drafting to pair with a quarterback, but McConkey can be that guy. He has the potential to be the best receiver Herbert has had in Los Angeles outside of a healthy Keenan Allen. This is a quarterback/wide receiver duo with a lot of upside.

Joe Burrow/Ja’Marr Chase

This is a duo you expected to see on here, and alas it is. The former LSU pair have wreaked havoc on the AFC since the Bengals took Joe Burrow with the first overall pick. Despite missing some time last year, Burrow is back and full healthy. Ja’Marr Chase didn’t have the best season last year, but he could only do so much with Jake Browning playing a lot of games.

Chase is still an early-round draft pick in fantasy drafts, but Burrow has a bit of shelf life. His ADP right now is 62, and he’s going as late as 82. Those who are in leagues that only start one quarterback may be able to sit back and have Burrow fall into your lap.

Jared Goff/Amon-Ra St. Brown

When the Lions traded for Jared Goff , who would have thought this duo would become one of the best in the league? He’s almost always finding a way to throw for over 200 yards, doing so in 15/16 fantasy contests last year. Enough can’t be said about Amon-Ra St. Brown and his athleticism on the outside. There’s a reason St. Brown is a top 5-6 pick in fantasy drafts as he racks up 100-yard games like they’re nothing. Him and Goff have elite chemistry together.

Goff is a player who goes even later in the draft than Burrow; his is ADP is currently 105 but has gone as early as 58. It’s same to assume those who are reaching that much for Goff have this idea in mind and doing everything they can to pair him with St. Brown. This quarterback/wide receiver duo is one you can’t beat!
