Minnesota Vikings fourth-round pick Khyree Jackson—and two of his friends—were killed in a traffic accident involving three cars. Details are still emerging from the scene , but according to multiple reports, alcohol may have been involved in the accident .
Jackson, 24, was set to enter his rookie season after a strong college career. He played for two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Oregon for his final year. In his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, he overlapped with several young Detroit Lions players who were clearly devastated to hear the news Saturday morning.
Jackson, a cornerback, shared a position room with current Lions Brian Branch and Terrion Arnold. Both Lions went to social media to share their emotions of this tragic day.
“The journey it took for you to get to where you was at and you really accomplished your goals of making it to the NFL, you really looked out for me,” Arnold wrote in a post to Twitter. “A true brother and all you wanted to do was see me succeed and vice versa always love slim.”

“I ain’t shed a tear in a min,” Branch wrote, “this one hurt.”
Also directly affected by the news is Lions receiver Jameson Williams. Williams only spent a year at Alabama, but it’s clear he was close to Jackson, as well.
“I’m hurt damn ski,” Williams wrote in an Instagram reel. “Can’t fake sht. Don’t feel real, my brother.”
Our thoughts go out to everyone impacted by this terrible tragedy.
