The Detroit Lions have 7 Pro Bowlers and 11 alternates for 2025, but several were snubbed entirely.
On Thursday morning, the NFL announced the 2025 Pro Bowl rosters for both the NFC and AFC. As expected, the Detroit Lions have several players named to the honors—seven to be exact. Only the Baltimore Ravens (nine), had more.
The seven Lions players announced to the Pro Bowl were:
- QB Jared Goff (4 career Pro Bowls)
- WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (3)
- RB Jahmyr Gibbs (2)
- LT Penei Sewell (3)
- C Frank Ragnow (4)
- S Brian Branch (1)
- P Jack Fox (2)
The Lions also had 11 players listed as alternates:
- RB David Montgomery (3rd alternate)
- TE Sam LaPorta (1st)
- G Kevin Zeitler (3rd)
- G Graham Glasgow (4th)
- LT Taylor Decker (3rd)
- DT Alim McNeill (3rd)
- DT DJ Reader (7th)
- LB Jack Campbell (4th)
- S Kerby Joseph (2nd)
- KR Kalif Raymond (1st)
- K Jake Bates (2nd)
As reported earlier, Lions safety Kerby Joseph did not make the Pro Bowl roster , despite leading the NFL in interceptions and earning the most Pro Bowl fan votes. The safeties that made it above him were his teammate Brian Branch, Packers safety Xavier McKinney, and Cardinals safety Budda Baker.
Surprisingly, Alex Anzalone was nowhere to be found on the Pro Bowl or alternate rosters, despite being a lynchpin to the Lions defense. Same could be said for cornerback Carlton Davis.
Note: As a reminder, Jameson Williams and Aidan Hutchinson were not eligible to make the Pro Bowl.
