The Detroit Lions have taken OT Giovanni Manu, after trading into the 4th round.
The Detroit Lions traded up into the fourth round—spending their 2025 third-round pick—to select offensive tackle Giovanni Manu.
Manu is from the University of British of Columbia, and he’s a massive human being at 6-foot-8, 350 pounds. He’s made 33 starts at left tackle and six at left guard.
Most notably, Manu has a ridiculous athletic profile, running an 5.06 40-yard dash at 352 pounds and posting an impressive 33.5-inch vertical.
Giovanni Manu was drafted in round 4 pick 126 in the 2024 draft class. He scored a 8.83 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 162 out of 1377 OT from 1987 to 2024. https://t.co/R4RHIHa98w pic.twitter.com/nKzneO4zYo

The Lions had showed interest in Manu in the pre-draft process, hosting him for a top-30 visit early this year.
Manu fits in as a developmental swing tackle and gives the Lions some depth at a position that’s currently lacking it. The only Lions offensive tackle signed beyond 2024 is Penei Sewell.
Detroit still has four picks remaining in Day 3.
