Xavier Basketball has just scored a huge pledge. On Monday, 2026 four-star point guard Kalek House verbally pledged to the Musketeers, according to reports. The 6-foot-3 House is the son of former NBA player Eddie House , who won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008.
Xavier Scores Huge Pledge From 2026 4-Star Guard, Kalek House
This past weekend, House took an official visit to Xavier. He didn’t have any visits to other schools planned and announced his commitment to the Musketeers on his birthday. However, despite locking-in on Xavier during his recruitment, he held scholarship offers from several schools.
This long list included: Arizona State, Creighton, Grand Canyon, Hampton, Hawaii, Kansas , Michigan , Mississippi State, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Stanford, TCU, Wake Forest, Washington and Washington State.
Basketball Pedigree
There are a lot of basketball ties in the House family.

First, there’s his dad, an 11-year NBA veteran who was a deadeye from deep. Kaden House, a 2026 four-star combo guard, is Kalek’s twin brother. Jaelen House, the older brother of the twins, played at New Mexico for Richard Pitino.
As history continues to repeat itself, Kal. House will suit up for Pitino at Xavier. The son of Hall of Fame head coach Rick Pitino took over for the Musketeers this past March after Sean Miller became the new head coach at Texas.
Xavier Pledge Eyes Big Senior Year
House and his twin brother suit up for the powerhouse AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler (Ariz.). This team is a member of the country’s premier high school hoops conference, the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic (Nike EYBL). A junior in 2024-25, House averaged 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in EYBL Scholastic regular-season play .
Next season, when House will be a senior, AZ Compass Prep is projected to be one of the best teams around the country. Indeed, when The Grind Hoops national expert Samad Hines recently updated his high school basketball preseason top-25 for 2025-26, he placed AZ Compass Prep at No. 9 overall .
On the AAU circuit this spring and summer, House was one of the leading performers for the Oakland Soldiers 17U team in Nike’s EYBL league. In the regular season, he posted averages of 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. At the EYBL’s season-ending Peach Jam in July, House turned it up a notch , averaging 18.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest. The scouting experts at The Circuit gave him an honorable mention nod for their All-Peach Jam teams.
Xavier Targets Other 2026 Prospects
House is the first commit for the Musketeers in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Interestingly, his twin brother doesn’t hold an Xavier offer, according to 247Sports . However, the Musketeers coaching staff is in pursuit of other high school seniors.
Keep an eye on prospects such as Bergen Catholic four-star power forward Julius Avent and Bella Vista Prep four-star wing/small forward Vaughn Karvala. Both Avent and Karvala have both officially visited the campus. Karvala is also being recruited by programs such as the Iowa Hawkeyes.
