A lot has been made of the 2023 Michigan Wolverines and whether their 15-0 national championship win is in any way tainted by the sign-stealing scandal and the recruitment violations that saw head coach Jim Harbaugh suspended for around half of the regular season.
One of the Wolverines’ biggest wins of the season was against quarterback Jalen Milroe and the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl en route to their national championship win.
Appearing on Bussin With the Boys, Milroe was asked if he feels that the Wolverines cheated on their way to winning it all. Taylor Lewan asked him point blank, “Do you think Michigan cheated?”
Milroe did his best to sidestep the question, declaring that it doesn’t matter because the Wolverines won the game on the field.
“It don’t matter, they won,” Milroe said. “They won. It don’t matter, they won.”
The hosts tried press Milroe a little bit, teasing that Michigan might have had Alabama’s playcalls. But the Alabama quarterback wouldn’t bite.
“They won.”

He’s not wrong. The game itself really came down to some errors that Alabama made on offense, moreso than Michigan having an answer to every play that the Crimson Tide were making.
Many fans have blamed Alabama’s center on a poor snap in a crucial, game-deciding overtime play for their loss.
By hook or by crook, Michigan won the national title, sending Alabama head coach Nick Saban out with a loss in what was the final game of his coaching career with the Crimson Tide.
But Alabama won’t be complaining about it.
