Picking up a former five-star recruit would be a huge get for the Wolverines this offseason.
Michigan is in the running for former five-star wide receiver Kyle Ford. The former UCLA Bruin — and USC Trojan, for that matter — has the Wolverines in his top-six schools.

Ohio State is also one of the schools on this list, which is where former UCLA head coach Chip Kelly is now the offensive coordinator.
Ford originally signed his letter of intent to play at USC, but ultimately transferred to UCLA prior to the 2023 season. He appeared in 12 games (two starts) during his time with the Bruins and had 22 catches, 236 yards and one touchdown. His longest catch went for 37 yards against Stanford.
Ford is listed at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, which means he’s similar in size to former Michigan receiver Cornelius Johnson. He’s also bigger than the other current receivers on the roster, which means he could be a good deep threat for Sherrone Moore and company.
Michigan receivers Karmello English and Cristian Dixon have both entered the portal so far during the spring window, so Michigan could definitely benefit from adding another player at the position from the portal. If Ford is looking for more playing time, he’s likely to have a better chance at that in Ann Arbor than most of the other schools he’s considering.
Ford has one season of eligibility remaining.
