ESPN broadcaster Troy Aikman is hoping Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh returns to the NFL this offseason. He made that abundantly clear on national television this Saturday.
During the first quarter of the Texans-Ravens game, ESPN’s cameras showed Jim Harbaugh supporting his brother’s squad. That inspired Aikman to talk about the veteran coach’s future.
“I hope we see him in the NFL next year,” Aikman said . “He’s going to make somebody a heckuva football coach. He’s won everywhere he’s been.”
Aikman isn’t wrong about Harbaugh having success everywhere he’s been.
At the collegiate level, Harbaugh has managed to win double-digit games at San Diego, Stanford and Michigan. His career record is 144-52.
When Harbaugh was the head coach of the 49ers, he went 44-19-1 in a four-year stretch. More importantly, the franchise made the NFC Championship three times.

Harbaugh has interviewed with the Chargers and Falcons so far this offseason.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter said the Chargers have Harbaugh at the top of their wish list .
“Now, the Chargers are a team that, to me, has identified him and I think he’s right near, if not, at the top of their list,” Schefter said. “And the question is whether they can get something done with Jim, who’s spoken in the past with the Vikings two years ago about going to the NFL, it didn’t happen, and with the Broncos last year, didn’t happen
Aikman might get his wish when it’s all said and done.
