SURPRISE! Top-100 WR Derek Meadows, who is currently committed to LSU and to catch passes from five-star QB Bryce Underwood, is visiting Michigan today for the game against Oregon:
On Friday, the Michigan Wolverines picked up two huge additions to their defense in the 2025 class from four-star cornerback Shamari Earls and three-star defensive lineman Benny Patterson . Both players flipped from another school to the Wolverines, and now they are hoping to close out the class with a few more.
Among the very best of them is four-star top-100 wide receiver Derek Meadows . The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas took an official visit to Ann Arbor over the summer before ultimately deciding on playing with five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood at LSU.
However, it appears Meadows may be looking elsewhere as we enter the final month stretch before the early signing period. According to 247Sports’ Tom Loy, Meadows is among the large contingent of visiting recruits at Michigan this afternoon for the game against Oregon.
As I reported yesterday would be the case…
I’m told Top100 receiver and #LSU commit Derek Meadows is visiting #Michigan today for the game vs. Oregon.
Big-time talent checking out Ann Arbor.

Meadows has been solid to LSU since making his commitment in July, but now he seems to have a wandering eye, like many other prospects that have shown interest in U-M lately.
It is huge to get such a highly regarded player committed elsewhere on campus, but this visit should also indicate the Wolverines’ very real chances of flipping Underwood. Meadows and Underwood aren’t necessarily a package deal, but it’s hard to imagine a top-100 wide receiver would willingly visit a school without a quarterback commit — especially this late in the cycle — without having a plan in place to get a quarterback.
And as we all have come to know over the past couple weeks, there’s a pretty big plan in place to get Underwood to flip to Michigan. And if he does, there’s a pretty decent shot Meadows follows suit.
