Michigan’s star defenders and tight end have been honored by the Big Ten.
Michigan Wolverines tight end Colston Loveland, cornerback Will Johnson and defensive tackle Mason Graham were named to the Big Ten’s preseason honorees list, the conference announced on Tuesday just prior to the conference’s Media Days.

A media panel selected the 12-member list of players, which also includes Iowa linebacker Jay Higgins, Rutgers running back Kyle Monangai, Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs, Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson, and Ohio State defensive end JT Tuimoloau.
Loveland, Graham and Johnson — all juniors heading into the 2024 season — are some of the best players at their respective positions in the country. In fact, all three of them were ranked the No. 1 players at their position in all of college football heading into the fall, according to Pro Football Focus.
This is just the start of what should be a great week of preseason college football. We will hear from head coach Sherrone Moore, as well as tight end/fullback Max Bredeson, running back Donovan Edwards and safety Makari Paige, later this week at Big Ten Media Days. Maize n Brew will be in Indianapolis covering all angles of the event, so be sure to stay with us as the week progresses.
