Michigan takes on McNeese on Friday in its last non-conference game of the year.
The Michigan Wolverines fell in its only game this past week against Florida in the Jumpman Invitational. The Wolverines got a huge game from Dug McDaniel (33 points), but it wasn’t enough in the double-overtime loss in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This week, the Wolverines once again play just one game, as they wrap up their non-conference schedule against McNeese. The Cowboys aren’t going to be a pushover, as they come into the game 10-2 overall and having won five straight games.
The Wolverines desperately need to get a win before they hit the thick of the Big Ten schedule with a home game against Minnesota on Jan. 4.
Rest of the Big Ten
The holiday week brings a light schedule for the rest of the Big Ten, with no games until Thursday when Maryland plays a one-win Coppin State team.
Friday brings a full schedule, but the best game on the docket is Jackson State against Northwestern. Top-ranked Purdue plays Eastern Kentucky in what should be a blowout, and No. 13 Illinois takes on a Fairleigh Dickinson team that upset Purdue in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last season.
Saturday provides the best game of the week in the Big Ten, as Ohio State battles West Virginia in the Legends of Basketball Showcase, which is a glorified home game for the Buckeyes in Cleveland.
This is the last week before the Big Ten schedule gets into full swing, so get ready for some better matchups than what the last couple weeks have given us.
