These shirts highlight unique bond between Michigan Football and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital kids

The University of Michigan released a video showing how t-shirts worn by players during the spring game were designed by kids at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. It highlights the unique bond between U-M athletes and families receiving care:

If you tuned into the Michigan football spring game on the Big Ten Network last weekend, you may have seen some players wearing t-shirts designed by kids at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. The broadcast mentioned it a bit, but now we’re getting a better look.

The partnership between Michigan Athletics and the hospital isn’t exactly new. For years, we’ve heard players talk about the unique bond they have with the hospital and families and kids receiving treatment. Quarterback Davis Warren went through cancer treatment himself and often talks about how important it is to give back to others.

Fans may have criticized Warren’s play on the field last season, but no one can deny he has a special ability to inspire others. The video shows him interacting with some of the kids and walking them through the process of designing shirts.

We are also getting a look at some of the newer faces to participate in charitable acts like this, including linebacker Cole Sullivan . He was the team’s Rookie of the Year on special teams last year, and the sophomore is expected to play a bigger role this season.

Meanwhile, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Blake Frazier was paired up with a kid named Christian. In the video above, he spoke about wearing Christian’s shirt during the spring game. Christian wasn’t physically able to draw it himself, but walked Frazier through the process of designing the shirt.

I love to talk football after the spring game, but this is a nice reminder that there are so many other important things in life. And it’s nice to see that being part of the Michigan football program goes well beyond things that happen on the field.
