Either Cooper Manning is the greatest troll in the world or the internet has once again led people to believe something that’s not true.
On Saturday afternoon, No. 3 Texas will face No. 10 Michigan in what should be one of the most exciting games September has to offer.
Even though Arch Manning isn’t expected to play, there’s a rumor floating around that claims Cooper Manning paid the Graduate Hotel in Ann Arbor to place a Texas flag outside.
“I hear that Cooper Manning paid to have the Texas flag fly outside the Graduate hotel near campus,” the rumor states . “People in Ann Arbor are not happy about it. As a Michigan alum I’m not sure I feel about that.”
Roughly an hour later, Michigan beat writer Zach Shaw poured cold water on this rumor.
“Does the Graduate Ann Arbor not always do this? I know they do for Big Ten games Cooper Manning might be spending his money poorly then …,” Shaw tweeted .
This response from Shaw would suggest that Cooper Manning didn’t spend money just to have a Texas flag outside the Graduate in Ann Arbor.
Maybe, just maybe, the Manning family will address this rumor before the game officially begins.
Kickoff for the Texas-Michigan game is at noon ET. Oddsmakers have the Longhorns as a slight favorite despite being on the road.
ESPN’s computer model gives Texas a 74.1 percent chance of taking down Michigan in Ann Arbor.
