There’s no guarantee that there will be a celebration following the Michigan men’s basketball team’s regular-season finale against Nebraska — many would say that’s unlikely — but there certainly will be one before the game.
Because Sunday is Senior Day for the Wolverines, and the program is looking forward to honoring Jaelin Llewellyn, Nimari Burnett, Terrance Williams II, Jackson Selvala and their families, along with senior student managers. In a season with few bright spots, it’ll be a chance to find joy in the impact each senior left on the program day in and day out.
What makes this Senior Day celebration especially unique is each player’s background with the program. Only Williams played four years for Michigan, while Llewellyn and Burnett transferred in, and Selvala transitioned from a manager to a player ahead of last season. But regardless of whether this was their first season with the team or fourth, they’ve each left an impact that’ll shine front and center at Crisler Center ahead of the matchup with the Cornhuskers.
“This is a great weekend for our program to acknowledge and celebrate our seniors on a special day,” Juwan Howard said Friday. “Giving them the flowers they deserve on all their beautiful time that they have been here and been a part of the program.”
