With just a few days until the transfer portal closes, Michigan’s April has been eventful to say the least. The Wolverines lost five players to the transfer portal, including one starter, and Danny Wolf declared for the NBA Draft on Wednesday.
In total, eight of last year’s 12 scholarship players will be headed elsewhere via graduation, transfer, or professional options. The Wolverines have also signed one of the country’s best transfer portal classes, landing UAB’s Yaxel Lendeborg, Illinois’ Morez Johnson Jr., North Carolina’s Elliot Cadeau, and UCLA’s Aday Mara.
The portal hasn’t closed yet — the deadline to enter the portal is Tuesday — but here are six thoughts on Michigan’s roster up to this point, what makes sense, what doesn’t, and what might come next.
