Michigan doesn’t have many questions heading into the 2024 season but who will start at quarterback is one of them.
With J.J. McCarthy in the NFL, all eyes turn to Alex Orji, Jack Tuttle, and Davis Warren for the quarterback competition.
Even though the season is coming up in about a month, head coach Sherrone Moore is in no rush to name a starting quarterback. Moore confirmed that he’ll name a starter when they feel he can help them win.
“The ideal timeline is when we feel like we’ve got the guy who will help us win,” Moore said, via Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press . “There’s not a date, not a time. We will have a feel as a staff. Kirk Campbell is a phenomenal coach. He will make a great decision and we will be there to make it together.”
Michigan is coming off a national championship this past season after finishing 15-0. The program won the Big Ten before beating Alabama and Washington in the College Football Playoff.
The Wolverines are less than a couple of weeks away from opening up fall camp and will open the 2024 season against Elon on August 31.
