No matter what the Wolverines’ record is, everyone in Ann Arbor knows how important Ohio State week is.
It’s been a struggle in Sherrone Moore’s first year taking over the Michigan football program. But even at 6-5, UM’s season could be deemed a success with a win over the Buckeyes in The Horseshoe.
Asked about his approach in the lead up to Saturday’s storied rivalry game, Moore said (via 247Sports ): “it’s intense, but it’s fun. It’s what you want to do.”
The Wolves and Bucks couldn’t be heading in more different directions going into this weekend’s matchup. Ohio State has won each of its last five games over fellow Big Ten opponents, while Michigan is just 2-3.
Although Big Blue did put a 50-6 beating on Northwestern two days ago an impressive ground game and three-touchdown performance from running back Kalel Mullings.
Michigan has won each of the last three meetings between the two schools and will be looking to make it four consecutive for the first time since the 1940s.
It’s certainly not going to be easy with the talent Ryan Day and Co. boast this season. But if college football has taught us anything, it’s that any given Saturday a team can surprise us.
They’ll kickoff at 12 PM ET on FOX.
