The highest-rated offensive lineman commit in program history, Andrew Babalola has innate athleticism and limitless potential. Here is our scouting report on the five-star from Kansas:
The 2025 recruiting class for the Michigan Wolverines received a massive boost recently with the commitment of five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola. Per 247Sports’ composite , he is the fourth-highest ranked offensive tackle and the No. 19 overall player in the 2025 class. Babalola is the first composite five-star player to commit to Michigan in three years (Will Johnson) and the highest-rated offensive lineman to ever commit to the Wolverines.
Seemingly destined to wear the iconic No. 77, let’s get to know Michigan’s cornerstone recruit better.
Background
Babalola is a Kansas native who plays high school football for Class 6-A Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland. A basketball player for the majority of his life, Babalola is only in his second season of varsity football. To say he has taken to his new sport like a fish in water is an understatement. Babalola has taken to football like a 15-year-old shark who could grow to challenge Megalodon , hence his meteoric rise up the recruiting rankings.
Measurables
Listed at just under 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds, Babalola added 20 pounds ahead of his senior season and could easily support another 20 with a collegiate strength and conditioning program. With 34 ⅜ inch arms, he already possesses the ideal length for an NFL prospect. And his hands (paws, mitts, frying pans), although unconfirmed, are expected to fall in the vicinity of 10 ¼ inches.
High School Scouting
TL;DR: Babalola was made in a lab to play offensive tackle.
247Sports Comparison : Olu Fashanu
On3 Comparison : Broderick Jones
It is unbelievable that Babalola’s junior year tape is his first varsity action because immediately, his effortlessness jumps off the screen. He plays football like a big brother, messing around with his younger siblings and friends — like he played football in a previous life and is slowly remembering how good he was as he schools the youngsters.
Babalola is a natural athlete with light feet who is quick off the ball, fast to the point of contact, and finishes with ferocity. Think Zion Williamson crossed with the Green Goblin formula . His strong hands make it nearly impossible for prep defenders to disengage, and his flexibility allows him to sustain blocks with his wide pass-blocking base.
In the run game, Babalola is nasty and relishes the opportunity to drive his defender into the ground. Bring the syrup because he’s got a fresh order of pancakes every game. Furthermore, he has shown the ability to dominate single blocks, double teams, and work to the second level to dispose of overmatched linebackers.
At the next level, Babalola will have to refine his hand placement and pass-blocking technique, but at the prep level, he has shown proficiency at consistently dominating on an island.
Expectations at Michigan
Babalola might have the highest ceiling of any player in this class. It is impossible to gauge his potential, but the consensus says he has the makings of an NFL first-rounder. At Michigan, it could take him a year to polish his technique and develop the strength required to start at left tackle in the Big Ten. However, at the rate he has already developed, it would not surprise me to see Babalola quickly actualize his talent and potential, and anchor the offensive line for the next three years.
