It will be an early test for Dusty May and his staff in 2024.
Jon Rothstein reported on Wednesday afternoon that the Michigan Wolverines will take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2024 Jumpman Invitational.
The series began in 2022 between the four teams for both men’s and women’s basketball, as all four programs don the Jordan brand for their uniforms. The yearly event takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Michigan played Florida this past season in the invitational, losing to the Gators in a tight contest that went to double-overtime, 106-101. The Wolverines also lost to North Carolina in the inaugural invitational back in 2022 by a score of 80-76.
Michigan was the first of the four schools to wear Jordan brand apparel. Michigan partnership began in 2015 and was valued at $173.8 million over 15 years.
New head coach Dusty May has quite a bit to get sorted out before that game happens. He currently has three players committed to the 2024-25 roster — Will Tschetter, George Washington III and Durral Brooks.
