As first reported by Jon Rothstein , Michigan will host Villanova at the Crisler Center this season.
The Wildcats are entering the first year under new head coach Kevin Willard, who left Maryland this offseason.
The date of this year’s matchup is to be announced, per Rothstein. The Wolverines will play a return game at Villanova in 2026-27.
Michigan and Villanova have met several times over the past decade, including in the 2018 National Championship game and the 2022 Sweet Sixteen.
Michigan’s non-conference schedule also features Wake Forest (November 11th) in Detroit, a road game at TCU, a February game against Duke in Washington D.C., and three games at The Players Era Festival in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving week.
The Wolverines are also expected to play a preseason exhibition game at St. John’s in Madison Square Garden.
