According to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Saturday morning, the Michigan Wolverines are expected to be without star cornerback Will Johnson tonight against the Michigan State Spartans .
Michigan star cornerback Will Johnson is not expected to play tonight against Michigan State, per ESPN sources. He left the Illinois game last week with a lower body injury and was considered questionable by coach Sherrone Moore this week. pic.twitter.com/mtMQwIMVEZ

Johnson has battled various injuries this year, but this most recent injury was sustained a week ago at Illinois. He only played 13 snaps before leaving the game and never returning.
Earlier in the week, head coach Sherrone Moore was uncertain whether or not Johnson would be able to play. Defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan seemed a bit more optimistic during his meeting with the media on Wednesday, but it doesn’t appear the team’s best player in the secondary will be able to push through this week.
Michigan fans should expect a ton more Jyaire Hill and Aamir Hall tonight against MSU. We also got to see a bit of true freshman cornerback Jo’Ziah Edmond for the first time this season last week against Illinois, so perhaps the coaches will rely on him tonight as well.
Michigan vs. MSU kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
