Even though Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh continues to flirt in the NFL, he is still engaged in contract discussions with Michigan.
Michigan wants to keep him after he led the program to its first national title since 1997 but it has work to do.
Per Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! , Harbaugh is looking for an extension that would include “immunity” from getting fired for any findings that come out of the investigations into Michigan’s sign-stealing scandal.
Among the sticking points in contract discussions between Michigan and Jim Harbaugh: language that grants Harbaugh immunity from termination for any finding stemming from multiple current NCAA investigations, industry sources tell Yahoo Sports. https://t.co/OZ2ZY2d3UT

Basically, he wants assurance that he will keep his job, no matter what comes of the investigations.
Wetzel is also reporting that Harbaugh is seeking a later start date for his new deal since that would give NFL teams a lower buyout price to pay Michigan.
Harbaugh wrapped up an interview with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday and there’s still a chance he interviews with the Las Vegas Raiders this week.
We’ll have to see what he decides to do over the next couple of weeks.
