Five-star guard Brandon McCoy is expected to visit Michigan this weekend, as first reported by Joe Tipton .
McCoy is a 6-foot-5 combo guard ranked 6th nationally in the 2026 class. He’s known as one of the most physical and athletic guards in the class with elite downhill ability and defensive chops.
Michigan head coach Dusty May watched McCoy last weekend at the Border League in Las Vegas.
McCoy has also taken recent visits to Arkansas, Miami, and Alabama this fall. Tipton writes that he’s also expected to visit USC and Oregon. McCoy is the highest-rated prospect to visit Ann Arbor this fall and recently signed a NIL deal with Nike.
McCoy didn’t play grassroots basketball in the spring, but won a gold medal with the USA U19 team in the World Cup alongside Michigan sophomore big man Morez Johnson Jr. He returned to Nike EYBL action at the Peach Jam, averaging 22 points and six rebounds per game.
The Wolverines have four commitments in the 2026 class from Quinn Costello, Joe Hartman, Malachi Smith and Marcus Moller.
