A ton of committed players will be recruiting their peers starting today, as Michigan Football is set to host its final official visit weekend of June. Here is the list of anticipated visitors in Ann Arbor this weekend, which features a TON of top targets:
The Michigan Wolverines are gearing up for their final official visit weekend of the month of June. Top targets galore will be in Ann Arbor this weekend. After this weekend, the recruiting dead period will begin and last through July 31, so this is the final chance they will have before these players go into decision mode.
Here is the (always tentative) list of recruits set to be in Ann Arbor for the final official visit weekend of June.
Commitments
Four-star QB Brady Smigiel
Four-star TE Matt Ludwig
Four-star OL Bear McWhorter
Four-star CB Brody Jennings
Three-star WR Jaylen Pile
Three-star TE Mason Bonner
The most important committed player visiting this weekend is, undoubtedly, Jennings. The longest tenured commitment for the Wolverines is the one that is most likely to flip to another program. The Florida native has taken numerous trips to schools in the south like Miami, Auburn and Florida, with the Gators looking like the strongest contender as of now. This is LaMar Morgan’s time to shine to fully lock him into the class…and only have six more months of flip speculation.
Prospects
Four-star WR Calvin Russell
A composite four-star and Top-50 overall recruit, Russell is viewed as one of the elite players at his position in the class. The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder from Miami, Florida has already taken official visits to Oregon, Miami, Florida and Florida State this month. Michigan gets the last crack at him, as he is set to make his commitment on July 5.
Four-star OL Malakai Lee
Potentially Michigan’s top offensive tackle target in the class, it seems like Grant Newsome has made more in-home visits with Lee than any other target. With a decision date set for June 27, Lee will pick between Michigan, Texas, Georgia and Alabama. The lone Crystal Ball is in favor of the Wolverines.
Four-star OL Kelvin Obot
Another top offensive tackle target coming in this weekend, the Top-150 overall recruit hails from Utah and is strongly considering the hometown Utes, along with Oregon and Nebraska. He has taken official visits to those other three programs already, so Obot will likely go into decision mode shortly after this weekend.
Four-star OL Zaden Krempin
Another top target along the offensive line, Krempin is the longest shot among the guys coming to Ann Arbor this weekend. The Texas native has previously stated that distance from home could be a factor in his recruitment — which is code for “I truly don’t want to be too far from home no matter how much I try to convince myself otherwise” — so I would currently expect him to land at either Texas or Texas A&M. LSU is also a factor.
Three-star OL Marky Walbridge
If Lee is OT1 for the Wolverines, Walbridge very well could be OT2. The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder from Needham, Massachusetts is pretty undervalued by the recruiting services, but Michigan has been recruiting him like a five-star ever since offering him back in Oct. 2023. It makes sense that the only prediction is in favor of Michigan.
Four-star edge Carter Meadows
One of the top edge rushers in the nation, Meadows is a Top-75 overall prospect in the 2026 class on 247Sports’ composite. 247’s personal rankings, as well as On3’s rankings, have him closer to five-star status. He already took officials to Ohio State, Penn State and South Carolina, so Ann Arbor is his final destination before he makes a commitment.
Four-star edge Jackson Ford
However, Ford is another highly regarded defensive line prospect and is also considering Penn State, Ohio State, Kentucky and Wisconsin. However, he is a very similar prospect to four-star McHale Blade, who committed a couple weeks ago. It’ll be interesting to see if Ford is still a take for the program.
Four-star edge Julian Walker
The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder is probably the longest shot of the edge targets on Michigan’s board. The South Carolina native will be a tough pull from his hometown school, as well as North Carolina and others. However, stranger things have happened and Lou Esposito and company are going to give it all they got on the Top-200 overall player.
Four-star DL Titan Davis
After taking an official visit to Alabama a few weeks ago, Davis declared the Crimson Tide and Wolverines as his two final options. This is a massive visit for Michigan’s shot at landing the St. Louis, Missouri native. He would pair up well with the guys Michigan already has committed in the class.
Four-star CB Dorian Barney
Michigan gets the last official visit of Barney’s recruiting process, as the Georgia native is set to decide on July 5. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder took other official visits to Penn State, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech and Colorado. The only Crystal Ball at the moment is in favor of Penn State.
Four-star CB/S Blake Stewart
Another defensive back from the state of Georgia, Stewart as a pleasant surprise to get on campus this weekend, as it took him a while to get this on the books. A versatile, hard-hitting player in the secondary, Stewart can play either nickel or safety at the next level. Other schools being considered include Clemson, Miami and Vanderbilt.
