In today’s Recruiting Roundup, we have the latest on two four-star wide receivers and a four-star offensive lineman who visited for the BBQ at the Big House last weekend.
The biggest summer recruiting event for the Michigan Wolverines has come and gone, with dozens flocking to Ann Arbor for the BBQ at the Big House last weekend.
It was a major success for the Wolverines to host so many talented players. A few of those players spoke to various recruiting reporters regarding their visit, including a five-star wide receiver, a four-star wide receiver and a four-star offensive linemen.
Let’s get into it.
Four-star WR breaks down visit for BBQ
The Wolverines have already landed two 2025 wide receivers in four-star Jacob Washington and three-star Phillip Wright , but they are looking to get at least one more. One of the options is Jerome Myles, a four-star from Utah ranked 76th among his class and 11th among 2025 wide receivers on the 247Sports composite .
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Myles made his first visit to Michigan this weekend for the BBQ and seemingly had a great time.
“There’s no place like Michigan when it comes to culture,” Myles said to Blair Angulo of 247Sports ($) . “They definitely made me feel like a priority, even though there were other recruits there, I felt like they focused on me more. It was good to finally meet all the coaches in person, but something that stood out was the culture.”
The visit was so good for Myles that he is already planning to take an official visit this fall and attend a game at the Big House. Although the exact game has yet to be determined, it is great news that he is already eyeing another visit to Ann Arbor.
Myles, who was formerly committed to Ole Miss, took official visits to Utah and Texas A&M earlier this summer. Michigan getting an official visit this fall could move the needle even more in its favor.
Michigan ‘exceeded all expectations’ for four-star OL
It’s no secret the Wolverines have been aggressively pursuing top offensive linemen to replenish what has been the most dominant unit on the team in recent years. Michigan is hoping to land some guys in 2026 to pair up with four-star quarterback commit Brady Hart, and one of the many options is four-star Zaden Krempin.
Krempin visited Michigan for the first time this past weekend and discussed his time in Ann Arbor with The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich ($) .
“The entire trip exceeded all expectations,” Krempin said The Michigan Insider. “I had dinner Thursday night with coach Newsome. Then Friday started the day eating breakfast with coach Gilbert. From there we went to the football facilities and we spent the entire day the Michigan football staff. Met with the head coach, strength coach, nutritionist, academic coach, had a campus tour and followed that up with dinner with the entire staff and other recruits. Friday was awesome. I felt like I got to see what Michigan football is really about. Stepping foot on the field at the Big House was really cool. I can see myself playing there.”
Krempin also mentioned the highlight of the trip was the quality time his family spent with the coaching staff. And much like Myles, Krempin will also be back in Ann Arbor this fall.
“If I had a list, (Michigan would) be near the top,” Krempin said. “I’m grateful I have the next year to figure all this out. I’ll be back in early September for the Arkansas State game.”
On the 247Sports composite , Krempin is rated 158th overall in his class, 10th among interior offensive linemen and 18th among recruits from Texas.
Four-star WR returns to Michigan for BBQ at the Big House
Myles was far from the only wide receiver at the BBQ, as 2026 four-star Payton Cook was also in attendance. Cook said the visit went well, and got the chance to work out with wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy.
“He’s more of a teaching kind of coach,” Cook said to On3’s Zach Libby ($) . “He doesn’t really yell. He just really wants to pinpoint what you need to work on and help you with that. So, I feel like he’s more of a teacher kind of coach.”
The Akron, Ohio native is rated just outside the top-200 on the 247Sports composite . He has plenty of offers, but Michigan appears to be high on his list after reading quotes like the one below.
“I’m always really comfortable when I come here,” Cook said. “Every time I’m here, it always feels like home. They always treat me with great hospitality. I never feel like a stranger, like I’m just another player visiting. So, I always feel great when I come here. My interest is definitely going up the more I come.”
Cook will more than likely be back at Michigan sometime this fall as well.
Quick hitter
The Wolverines landed a commitment from 2026 four-star cornerback Brody Jennings after the BBQ at the Big House. Jennings told TMI’s Marich ($) the main highlight of the top for him was spending time with defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan.
“Exciting, joyful, delighted and blessed was his reaction,” Jennings said of Morgan. “Coach Morgan is a great coach and not only that, but a great man outside of football. He knows what he needs to do to make you better on and off the field, which is absolutely amazing!”
