2025 four-star TE Andrew Olesh just took a visit to ND this past weekend and has also visited Alabama, Oregon and Penn State this fall. Needless to say, Michigan will have to fight to keep him in the class. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
The Michigan Wolverines gained some good news last week when they picked up another wide receiver in the 2025 class, but one of their crown jewels of the class is still taking visits to other schools.
Andrew Olesh discusses commitment status
One of the top tight ends in the country, 2025 four-star Andrew Olesh has been committed to the Wolverines since July. However, he is still giving other schools a fair shot. He most recently visited Penn State for its game against Ohio State , as well as Notre Dame this past weekend. He has also taken trips to Alabama and Oregon this season, and may get out to Oregon once more before the end of the year.
He spoke with On3’s EJ Holland ($) prior to his Notre Dame visit about why he’s taking these trips despite his commitment.
“Just to clear things up, I’m still locked in with Michigan,” Olesh said. “I’m still taking these other visits to make sure Michigan is the spot for me. When I originally committed to Michigan, I didn’t have the opportunity to look at Oregon or Notre Dame. I’m soaking it in right now. We have a little less than a month until signing day, so I’m just making sure Michigan is the right spot.”
When Holland asked Olesh what Michigan needs to do to keep him in the class, here is what he had to say:
“That’s a good question. They are having a really good recruiting class. I don’t know what happened, but coach Moore has been ripping commitments left and right. But I want to see how things play out with Bryce Underwood and all that hype. That was another main concern for me. Carter (Smith) just decommitted. So really it’s ‘who’s going to be my quarterback?’ They can get the ball to the tight ends, but they still need a guy to do that. Coach Moore said they are going to get a senior from the portal no matter what. I also want to watch them win more. Indiana is a good team, so it’ll be good to see how they do this weekend.”
Additionally, Olesh said that on a scale of 1-10, his commitment to Michigan is “I’d say a seven or eight,” and that Oregon is the biggest threat to flip him away. Needless to say, this is going to be a fight until the signing period in December.
WR explains decision to flip to U-M from NC State
Jamar Browder is the latest wide receiver to commit to Ron Bellamy and the Wolverines’ 2025 class. The 6-foot-3.5, 205-pounder from Lake Worth, Florida flipped last week to Michigan from NC State .
In an interview with On3’s Steve Wiltfong ($), he is now detailing that decision.
“Loved everything about the program and the school,” Browder said. “There’s South Florida (connections) to it that I was familiar with like (owner) Stephen Ross and the Dolphins . The history of Shoelace (Denard) Robinson etc. Also other South Florida guys having gone to the league.
“The coaches were super down to earth and high energy. I loved the vibe of the players. It was awesome honestly. It was always cool to see that big ‘M’ logo on TV. Now being able to see it in person and what it means was pretty cool.”
Browder — who joins four-stars Andrew Marsh and Jacob Washington at the position in Michigan’s 2025 class — is having a great senior season. So far, he has 40 catches for 801 yards and seven touchdowns. Throughout his high school career, he has 2,075 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Quick Hitters
- 2026 four-star forward TJ Crumble recently visited Ann Arbor and told TMI’s Brice Marich ($) that he had an “amazing” trip and that he “loved every aspect of it.” It’s early on, but it sounds like Crumble could be a top guy for Dusty May and the hoops program.
- May and the Wolverines also received good news on Saturday when 2025 five-star guard Trey McKenney committed to Michigan. Speaking to Joe Tipton of On3 , McKenney explained that feeling at home and being able to make an immediate impact led him to committing, as well as “growing up just Michigan being my dream school and watching the Beilein days.”
