Michigan Football has been playing host to a handful of top recruits recently and those recruits are speaking about their time on campus. That and more in this edition of the Recruiting Roundup:
Official visit season for Michigan kicked off last weekend, and by many reports, things went well. We recap a couple of the official visitors from this past weekend in today’s Recruiting Roundup.
Four-star WR moves up commitment date following visit
Zion Robinson is currently listed as the No. 18 wideout in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports composite rankings, and he seems to have enjoyed his official visit to Ann Arbor.
Robinson had this to say to On3’s EJ Holland ($) regarding his visit.
“It went really well,” Robinson said. “I had a great time out there. I like everything about Michigan. I got to learn more about the education piece and the fit. Those were the two biggest things for me. It was definitely a great experience.”
Michigan continues to fight the narrative that wide receivers will be underutilized, given Michigan run heavy offense. Robinson met with offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, who seems to be working to change that narrative.
“Michigan has a reputation for running the football, but they are going to throw the ball more,” Robinson said. “Things are going to change. Coach Lindsey told me that himself. He did some great things at North Carolina with Drake Maye. Obviously, they have Bryce (Underwood) at quarterback now. I think it would be a good fit for me.”
Robinson admitted that Michigan is “definitely very high” on his list coming out of the official visit. Up next is a midweek official visit to Texas Tech. He is also set to see TCU , Miami and Stanford this month before making a final decision in July.
Michigan hosts four-star LB on official visit
Shadarius Toodle is currently committed to Auburn, but that did not stop the four-star linebacker from officially visiting Michigan over the weekend. He spoke with On3’s Chad Simmons ($) about this visit.
“The overall visit was good,” Toodle said. “I got to know the head coach and defensive coordinator more, and I got a good feeling from the whole staff. It was my second visit up to Michigan, and each time they have treated me like family.”
Michigan and linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary seemingly did a good job explaining why Michigan is a good fit for him.
“Michigan is definitely in my top three. They are making me feel at home and this visit definitely helped them. I got to see a day in the life of a Michigan football player and it was great.
“One of the biggest reasons I am high on Michigan is the development under coach BJ. He is a great teacher and a great guy. Michigan is also a one-of-a-kind program with a great background, too.”
Michigan will face an uphill battle in flipping Toodle, as he is a native of Alabama. Toodle still plans to take official visits to North Carolina, Auburn, Florida and Baylor.
