Sherrone Moore is expecting two more top targets on campus this June for official visits.
The month of June is near, which means a ton of recruits in the 2025 class are set to take official visits to their top colleges of choice.
In today’s Recruiting Roundup, we will discuss a couple prospects who recently scheduled their official visits to Ann Arbor, along with an update on a top linebacker target.
Four-star RB sets official visit to U-M
One of the top running backs in the 2025 class, top-100 four-star Jordon Davison , has lined up his official visit to Michigan for the weekend of June 7, according to On3’s Chad Simmons ($). Davison also has official visits set for Alabama (May 31), Oregon (June 14) and Ohio State (June 21).
Simmons also noted that Davison is planning to commit to one of the schools he is officially visiting before his senior year, so we should know more about his intentions soon after the month of June.
As it pertains to Michigan, Davison said: “Coach Tony Alford and I have a special relationship. From day one when I worked out with him at camp, we have had that connection. Since he got to Michigan, we have remained in contact. He told me he was leaving Ohio State two days before it came out, so we have that type of relationship. With him at Michigan, that impacts my interest in them. I have been up there, and now have to get up there, see how I feel and go from there.”
Michigan likely trails in this recruitment heading into his official visits, but hopefully his trip to Ann Arbor gives him something to think about as he heads to Oregon and Ohio State. Those two schools appear to be his top-two at the moment, with OSU having two Crystal Ball predictions.
Four-star OL also locks in official visit
One of Sherrone Moore’s top targets along the offensive line in the 2025 class, four-star Hardy Watts , is planning an official visit to Michigan, according to 247Sports’ Brian Dohn ($). It’s unclear what weekend he will be in town, but Michigan is the only school he is 100 percent sure he will officially visit.
Watts tentatively plans to take an official visit to Clemson the first weekend in June, but he needs clearance from his school in order to do so due to an already scheduled obligation that weekend. Other schools in the mix for an official visit include Alabama, Duke, Wisconsin, Georgia, Penn State and Boston College.
This will not be Watts’ first time in Ann Arbor this year, as he took an unofficial visit the last weekend of March. He is very familiar with what Michigan can do for him, so for the Wolverines, it is all about sealing the deal with him during his official visit.
At 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds, Watts is flexible and can play either the interior of exterior of the offensive line. He is ranked as the No. 225 overall prospect in his class, according to 247Sports’ composite, as well as the No. 1 player from Massachusetts and No. 13 interior offensive lineman.
Four-star LB hoping to officially visit U-M, discusses meeting with BJM
Brian-Jean Mary has yet to get a commitment since returning to Michigan, but with the number of linebackers the Wolverines are going after in the 2025 class, it’s bound to happen sooner rather than later.
One linebacker Jean-Mary is recruiting vigorously is four-star Kamar Archie . He hasn’t set an official visit to Michigan yet, but he is making that a priority before he makes a commitment.
“We had a great talk,” Archie told On3’s EJ Holland ($) about his meeting with Jean-Mary during a visit at Archie’s home this spring. “He got to speak with my parents. We talked about setting that official visit up. He told me to keep working. He also told me how special Michigan is. I’ve seen it for myself, so I know it is a special place.”
Archie already has official visits set for Clemson, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M, but he does intend on visiting Ann Arbor prior to July’s dead period. He also plans on making a commitment after his official visits, so it’s vital that the Wolverines schedule his trip as soon as possible.
“I can’t wait to get back up there,” Archie said. “I want to be able to connect with the coaches more. Last time, I didn’t meet coach (Sherrone) Moore. I’ve heard he’s a great guy from (former teammate and incoming true freshman) Owen Wafle. I can’t wait to meet him. I think he’s going to do a great job.”
At 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, Archie is the No. 26 linebacker, No. 7 player from New Jersey and No. 221 overall player in his class, per 247Sports’ composite.
