After another successful weekend hosting recruits, the Michigan Wolverines seem to be in a really good spot with a few top targets as we enter the stretch run of the 2025 class. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:
The Michigan Wolverines didn’t pull off the upset against Oregon last weekend, but all indications are that the visiting recruits had a great time despite the result on the field.
In today’s Recruiting Roundup, we’ll dive into the recruitments of a few visitors from the 2025 class and get their reactions from their time in Ann Arbor.
Top LB target recaps another trip to Michigan
We have talked about 2025 four-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng ad nauseam in these roundups for what seems like an eternity. The 6-foot-0.5, 205-pounder from IMG Academy is right on the cusp of the top-100 — slotting in at No. 107 overall — and has been Brian Jean-Mary’s top target for the majority of the recruiting cycle.
It was announced late last week that he would return for the game against Oregon, which marked his second Michigan game day trip of the season. Now, he is reacting to the visit with On3’s EJ Holland ($)
“Everything went well,” Owusu-Boateng said. “I asked all the questions I wanted to ask because this thing is almost over now. The coaches answered them for me. I got to look at every detail. Is Michigan the best fit for me? Honestly, I’m confident that the coaches would trust in me and believe in me if I did come to Michigan. Going again and again, I have a better feeling every time I go. These guys are genuine with me and my family and have a plan for me.”
Holland noted that most of the questions Owusu-Boateng asked had to do with how he’d fit in on and off the field. He wants to major in political science, so he was looking into the educational side of things as well. On the field, he asked who the Wolverines were going after along the defensive line in this class, because he wants to “make sure there are key pieces around me.”
Coming out of the trip, the Wolverines seem to have a great shot at landing him.
“Michigan is in a great position,” Owusu-Boateng said. “Honestly, Michigan is in the best position they’ve ever been. I’m going to Notre Dame next week. I’ll bounce the two schools off of each other and see what’s the best fit after that.”
Michigan now stands ‘very high’ on the list of top DL target
The Wolverines are looking to get at least one more interior defensive lineman in the 2025 class to round out a great first haul for Lou Esposito. Among their top choices is Christian Ingram , a 6-foot-6, 290-pounder from Georgia. He recently included Michigan, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky and Vanderbilt in his top-five list, which is an impressive group of schools despite being currently unranked on the composite (that won’t last forever).
Ingram was in town last weekend for his official visit and broke down the trip with The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich ($).
“It went great,” Ingram said. “The highlight there are the coaches. They’re very intense and show a lot of tough love, but they just want you to be better as a person. Very kind people, who they have kids and treat the players like their own outside of football. They’re like family men to me.”
Michigan appears to have upped its standing with him following the visit.
“(Michigan is) very high because they have everything you would need,” Ingram said. “They have access to equipment no other school have and beyond that they will make sure you taken care of outside of football.”
Ingram is hoping to make a commitment in December, but doesn’t have a strict timeline. He still has official visits planned for Georgia, South Carolina and Vanderbilt, so Michigan will need to survive three SEC visits to have a shot.
Backup LB target discusses ‘great’ visit over the weekend
If the Wolverines swing and miss on Owusu-Boateng, the next most realistic option may be 2025 three-star linebacker Cameron White . The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder from Seffner, Florida recently decommitted from UCF, and may be eyeing Michigan as his future school.
He was in Ann Arbor over the weekend and recapped his time to On3’s Holland ($).
“It was great,” White said. “It was more than I expected it to be. Going into the visit, everybody told me how much I was going to love it. I had high expectations for Michigan. It met all of them. The atmosphere at the game, the facilities, the people, everything was great. It was amazing. The thing that stood out the most was how nice the campus was. I had heard of Ann Arbor, but it’s amazing.”
One of the highlights for White was meeting with Jean-Mary and head coach Sherrone Moore.
“It was great meeting them in person,” White said. “I talk to them a lot over the phone, but it was great getting a feel for how they move, the way they do things, their energy and what kind of people they are. They are genuine but are great coaches at the same time. They keep it real with you. They tell you what it is.”
Next in his recruitment could be a trip to see Louisville, but it doesn’t sound like that has been 100 percent planned out yet. White did say that Michigan is “high up there” in his recruitment now, but we’ll more than likely have to see if the Owusu-Boateng ends up in the class first before seeing what happens with White.
Quick Hitters
- According to multiple reports, 2025 four-star wide receiver commit Jacob Washington will be making a visit to Missouri this weekend.
- 2025 four-star cornerback Graceson Littleton, who received multiple predictions in favor of Michigan last week before visiting for the Oregon game, is set to visit Texas this weekend. On3’s Wiltfong ($) believes Michigan is in “great shape” and that Littleton plans to make a decision shortly after the trip.
- After visiting last weekend, 2026 four-star tight end Matt Ludwig told On3’s Steve Wiltfong ($) that Michigan is “definitely one of my top choices.”
- Finally, also in the 2026 class, four-star running back Javian Osborne told TMI’s Marich ($) that Michigan is “without a doubt” at the top of his list, and that the Wolverines have been at the top “for months now.” Really good news for Michigan as it battles the Crystal Ball leading Texas Longhorns for the top-100 Forney, Texas native.
