Recruiting Roundup: Michigan going after four-star committed to other Big Ten team

They haven’t offered him just yet, but the Michigan Wolverines are starting to ramp up their pursuit of a four-star committed to another Big Ten school. We have that and more in today’s Recruiting Roundup:

The Michigan Wolverines begin fall camp this week, so admittedly, news on the recruiting trail has slowed down quite a bit. When you land 15 total commitments between June and July, I think it’s probably a good thing for the coaching staff to take a breather in recruiting and get their current team ready for the upcoming season.

Nevertheless, we do have some updates to get to in today’s Recruiting Roundup, starting with …

Michigan beginning to recruit four-star Nebraska commit

2026 four-star cornerback Danny Odem has been committed to Nebraska since June, but that isn’t stopping Michigan and others from recruiting him.

In fact, Michigan, Clemson, Colorado and Penn State have all begun ramping up their efforts to flip the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder from Orlando away from the Cornhuskers. Michigan has not offered Odem yet, but things appear to be developing here. He broke it all down with Rivals’ John Garcia Jr. ($).

“Michigan just started recruiting me,” Odem said. “They say they’re going to come check me out and get to know me. They haven’t offered me yet.”

Odem did say that it will take “something crazy” to make him flip his commitment, but it’s good to get some feelers out there ahead of the season starting when

Titan Davis discusses why he committed to Michigan

After taking official visits to Alabama and Michigan in June, 2026 four-star defensive lineman Titan Davis ended up committing to the Wolverines just a few days after his trip to Ann Arbor. The 6-foot-4.5, 270-pounder from St. Louis, Missouri is a borderline Top-100 overall recruit (No. 101, in fact) and was one of Lou Esposito’s top overall targets in the class.

Speaking with Rivals’ Greg Smith ($), Davis explained what made Michigan the right choice.

“I would probably say the main thing between Alabama and Michigan would probably be that the people at Alabama are great people. The people at Michigan are great people,” Davis said. “Just had to choose what was best for me at the end of the day, so I honestly thought and prayed about it. I honestly want to say my gut just told me that I needed to be at Michigan.”

Head coach Sherrone Moore, in addition to Esposito, also played a huge role.

“I would say Coach Sherrone Moore, that’s my guy,” Davis said. “I really think me and him kind of got the same personality. We’re both really laid back. I think me and him are kind of the same kind of person.”

Looking ahead, Davis will be back in Ann Arbor at least twice this fall — for the games against Wisconsin and Ohio State. When it comes to the Buckeyes, Davis had something to say about them.

“Let’s work, man. You know it’s time to beat Ohio State,” Davis said.

2027 edge rusher wants to visit Michigan for The Game

Isaac Miller may only be a three-star in the 2027 class, but his offer sheet indicates he may be in line for a bump in the rankings. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Wisconsin native has offers from Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Notre Dame, Miami and more up to this point, with more likely on the way.

It’s a good thing the Wolverines got in on this recruitment early, as he is already filling up his fall visit schedule. According to 247Sports’ Allen Trieu ($), Miller is hoping to visit Michigan for the Ohio State game in November.

“I definitely want to get to Wisconsin, Michigan and Notre Dame this fall,” Miller said. I’ve been talking with them a lot and I want to see the game-day atmosphere in person. I’m planning to be at The Game at Michigan and maybe a few Wisconsin games if my schedule works out.”

Any time you are gunning for a Wisconsin native, you have to be weary of the in-state Badgers. Wisconsin offered Miller before most of his other big time offers came in, so Luke Fickell and company appear to be in the best spot early on.

But you can never count of Lou Esposito for a defensive line recruit he wants. And from what Miller said he is looking for in his future school, Michigan checks a lot of the boxes.

“For me, development and fit are the biggest priorities, both on and off the field,” Miller said. “I want to go somewhere that challenges me but also supports me. The coaching staff, culture, and how they develop players for the next level matter. Location is a factor, but not a deal-breaker. It just depends on the overall feel and what the school has to offer.”

Quick Hitters

  • Michigan recently offered 2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson , the No. 5 overall player and No. 2 cornerback in the country.
  • Michigan also offered another 2027 five-star — athlete Matthew Gregory — last week.
  • Finally, Michigan sent out an offer to 2027 four-star defensive lineman Jamarkus Pittman , who is currently committed to Ole Miss.
